SPIDER10 PIPE GUIDE

The Spider 10 cylidrical pipe guides are the most popular guides for use with metal and other expansion joints.

A split housing can be sized to allow for different amounts of insulation to be inserted. See the pdf submittal sheet for more details and to choose a model based on diameter and insulation space.

Note that the spider guides are not designed to handle support loads, and only keep the pipe in alignment and prevent buckling when expansion joints are used.  This includes minor loads in any direction up to 20% of dead loads for maximim spans of a given pipe diameter.  Other components should be used for general support loads.  For guides that also act as supports, see the Slidex slide guides.

To determine proper placement and number of guides required, see the illustration and table on the Pipe Guide page.

To determine which model number you require, choose from the first table below based on the amount of insulation space as well as the pipe diameter. Then specify your model and pipe diameter. Dimensions for each model are shown in the second table.

Standard allowed movements are also shown in the second table.  Longer movements are available, especially for when used with Model EP externally pressurized expansion joints. Contact factory.

Maximum temperature 750F.
